Bought this unit at a national retail chain when it was on sale 3 weeks ago.

I was setting it up for the first time step by step. When I was entering my home wireless security code, the screen went out. I knew I did nothing wrong but maybe I did. So I started all over. Nothing worked since: screen froze, error messages, etc. I had tried to set up at least six times with 3 hours pure frustration.

So I returned the darn thing and tried to have an exchange to give another shot becuase of the sales price. They still have no stock in the store or nearby stores 3 weeks later.

The one I got is a LEMON and it was bad luck. But my very first experience with Acer is indeed a bad one and makes me very iffy if I should even go back to it.

Perhaps I should pay extra for a Toshiba or Sony. My wife ordered an HP netbook from Amazon and two weeks into usage when she was in the airport on route to Asia, its wireless function didn't work. But HP had pretty good customer service so the HP was fixed in Asia when she was there.

Not sure Acer provides what kind of customer support.

This Acer netbook is truly appealing due to its size and design. After a few months of use a major defect came to light: the AC/DC adapter ping needle inside the computer is connected to the computers main card, so apon breaking after light use it could not be fixed without a major investment of a new card, almost what the little machine cost to begin with. This is without a doubt a major flaw in design, which will keep this model very close to the trash bin, or in the repair shop on a permanent basis. I would not suggest its purchase. Acer and its affiliated workshops were quick to argue that this defect was not covered in its warranty, which made this defect even worse. Perhaps ACER should learn a lesson from Toyota instead of selling a model of pure LEMON. Beware.

If you are in the market for this type of device, do not purchase an ACER.

Simply put, it will not work well and no one will care.

The order for this item was accidentally placed by my thumb resting on the touch pad while I was browsing netbooks.

Within five minutes, I received an email confirming the order. The "One Touch" ordering system is fine, and earlier I had wondered what I would do if something like this happened. In all my earlier orders from Amazon, I found that I had thirty minutes to correct an error like this one. In this case, for reasons which I do not yet understand, this option was not available; rather, I am instructed "This portion of your order is being prepared for shipment and cannot be canceled or changed. Create a Review". So..., this is the review.

I had been led, based upon previous experience, to think that I had some time to correct such an error. But, in this case, there was ABSOLUTELY NO mechanism for me to say whoops, that's not what I meant to do. Amazon should, nay, MUST, provide some way for a customer to correct such an error. I fail to understand why they did not do so in this case.

Now, I must say that I would likely have deliberately ordered this netbook anyway (it was one of my two top choices). However, the fact that the site put me in this situation really p...es me off.

When I receive the netbook, and IF I decide not to return it unopened, I will write a review of the item itself.
