This is my third Asus notebook/netbook that I am purchasing. As has always been the case, Asus makes a quality product that stands up to some light abuse. The overall finish of this particular netbook is outstanding. No glossy spots (not even the screen) to grab fingerprints, a nice flat track pad, unlike the dimpled ones they've been using the past year or so, And a good specification list, make this a great buy.
My only complaint is Windows 7 Starter edition. I have been using Windows 7 for over a year now and have learned to love all of the great things that Windows 7 offers in comparison to previous windows versions, but the starter edition is TERRIBLE. You cannot change your desktop background, you get no aero peek, or any aero glass features. And overall, Windows 7 is slow slow slow to boot on this netbook. I have plans to reformat it with Windows XP like my other Asus netbook, which boots quickly and runs great.
Overall, I was very pleased with my third computer from Asus.

This does what it says on the tin- fully charge and exhaust the six cell battery a few times and then with judiciuous use of the smart power settings, wireless off and low screen brightness you will get hours out of the battery. I fully loaded Office 2007 Enterprise with no problem (and it runs properly), deleted the trial virus guard (replaced with "Avast" free version which is much better in my opinion than AVG)- deleted Works and MS Office 60 day free trial- this baby really flies for 1Gb of RAM- as soon as the warranty is up a 2Gb RAM chip will replace its baby brother.Would recomment this especially for long flights.

Had several problems with the Operating System the first few weeks after installing commonly used software - Execl, Word Photoshop. The touchpad is difficult to control. It could use at least one more USB port.

This item was everything I thought it would be. It's perfect for college. It's light weight so not a problem being to big and bulky.

Bought one for my 11 year old daughter. Had to return it because the power cord did not work. The next one, the screen started to go after two weeks of use. Moved on to a HP.
