Xperia

While I salivated when I saw the white Xperia, the black Xperia did curb my salivation :) I almost got the Captivate, but saw this on Amazon Wireless - and didn't think twice ! Amazon Wireless has been excellent with providing quality service and quick shipping and handling. That being said, here's my take on this beaut from SE.

Pros :

(1)Excellent call quality(TTY is turned on all the time - after doing some research)

(2)GPS ROCKS - Locks fast and took me on a 1000+ mile trip without losing connectivity -ANYWHERE, ANYTIME !

(3)Timescape and Mediascape are good - use them extensively. No lag found unlike those mentioned in some forums that I've come across.

(4)Battery life - Good enough 1+ days easy(although I diligently turn off wifi/3g and use "the" app to extensively kill stuff I don't use/need). The Li-po battery does not have a memory effect unlike others so keep it charged whenever it dips below 30-40%

(5)Screen quality is crisp if you save yourself the bother and turn the Auto feature off.40-50% screen brightness should perk up the screen

(6)Camera snaps and video are A++++ during day, but during night...

(7)Music quality is crisp and clear(streaming over 3G/Wi-fi is spectacular)

(8)1 ghz processor does justice to 1.6, and gets the work done.I haven't experienced any lag/delay. The supposedly update to 2.1/2 will make it fly

(9)Build quality is awesome. Think BMW !

(10)Looks are subjective, but I think this is one of the best looking phones out there..period

Cons :

(1)Missing out on "good" apps available for 2.2

(2)ATT's crapola bloated apps eating into the precious memory

(3)Night time camera snaps are crap mostly due to the lack of a flash. The "LED" flash serves the purpose of a flash-light..nothing more !

(4)Came with a 2GB Microsd installed - Expected that since SE is not the most generous when it comes to giving freebies(Have upgraded it to a 8gb class 6 though!)

(5)Speakers are feeble, wish they could have had 2. Own a N95 8GB as well - the dual speakers that this baby has can drive you deaf :)

Overall:

I have used SE since their T68i days, and my last one was a N95 8GB(if only it had a touch screen - it would beat the pants outta every android phone out there :) !! - I am personally very happy to have bought this phone over other "better" phones out there. I would highly recommend this phone to people who don't mind missing out on the latest and the greatest !!!!

Very nice phone. Huge touch screen.(Sensitive and really bright) No proprietary non-sense. Micro Sd.(Standard Expandable memory) Micro Usb 'B'(Charging and data transfer) Standard headphone jack. Great U.I. Amazing camera (Still and Motion) Excellent for texting and pic/vid messaging. Wifi is on point so you can get a small (cheap) data plan. Music player is just as good if not better than "ipod" (again the U.I. is really cool and easy) Android 1.6 as of time of this review (09/27/10) "2.1 to come in (10/??/10) If you don't know what that means it doesn't matter. (tech geek for update to increase power and processing speed) Got it from amazonwireless only payed one cent with plan. Always happy with amazon. xperia x10 "highly recommended"
